Non Combustible Incense Recipes

To make incenses, simply grind the ingredients and mix them together. As you mix, sense their energies. Burn on charcoal blocks in the censer during ritual.


Air Incense

3 parts benzoin
2 parts gum mastic
1 part lavender
1 pinch wormwood

Used to invoke the air element, increase intellectual powers, to obtain travel, communication, study. Also burned during divinitory rituals.


Altar Incense

2 parts frankincense
2 parts myrrh
1 part cinnamon

A general incense to purify the altar area.


Aphrodite Incense

1 part cinnamon
1 part cedar
1 part lavender

Burn during rituals designed to attract love.


Apollo Incense

4 parts frankincense
2 parts myrrh
2 parts cinnamon
1 part bay

Burn during divination and healing rituals.


Astral Travel Incense

3 parts sandalwood
3 parts benzoin
1 part mugwort

When purifying or consecrating magical tools, jewelry, quartz crystals and other stones, smolder this incense and pass the item through its smoke several times. Do this while visualizing the fumes purifying the object.


Dream Incense

2 parts sandalwood
1 part rose petals
1 part camphor
a few drops jasmine oil

Burn a bit in the bedroom prior to sleep to induce psychic dreams. Remove the censor from the room before retiring.

* Only burn pure camphor. If you can't find any substitute a few drops of spirits of camphor, which is easier to find.


Esbat Incense

4 parts frankincense
3 parts myrrh
1 part sandalwood
1 part gardenia petals
1/2 part thyme
1/2 part poppy seed
1/2 part rose petals

Burn during rituals and spells on the Full Moon.


Full Moon Ritual Incense

1 parts frankincense
1 part sandalwood

Burn during Full Moon rituals, or simply to attune with the Moon.


Healing Incense

1 part rosemary
2 parts juniper berries

Burn to speed healing while visualizing.


Meditation Incense

2 parts lavender
1 part sage

Burn a small amount before meditation to relax the conscious mind.
